NFP Strengthens Employee Benefits Practice with Salus Group Acquisition

NFP boosts its employee benefits division by acquiring Salus Group, led by CEO Michael Brillati, enhancing its presence in the Central region.

NFP, a division of Aon, has announced the successful acquisition of Benefits Partner, LLC, widely recognized as the Salus Group.

Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Salus Group is an independent firm that excels in employee benefits consulting, brokerage, and administration.

Leadership Transition

With this transition, Michael Brillati, Salus Group’s CEO, is stepping into a new role as senior vice president at NFP.

In this position, he will report directly to Michael Schneider, who leads the Central and West regions.

Strategic Enhancement

This strategic acquisition marks a significant enhancement to NFP’s services, following other notable transactions like the 2018 purchase of Cambridge Consulting Group.

Brillati’s new role will involve working closely with regional leaders Dan Cornwell and Cam Kennedy to boost growth efforts, particularly in one of NFP’s key markets within the Central region.

History and National Reach

Established in 2005, Salus Group initially focused on providing employee benefits consulting for credit unions.

Over time, it expanded its reach and diversified its clientele to include various middle-market employers, especially those with unionized workforces.

While its main operations are based in Michigan, Salus Group has built a national presence, particularly serving clients in states like Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.
